About S.K.C

The Sea kayak Company is a locally owned and operated, boutique sea kayak operation ably assisted by our team of experienced guides.

Our team of experienced sea kayak guides

Our base is in Motueka (the town located closest to the Abel Tasman National Park) by the roundabout as you exit highway 60. Our sea kayak adventures are conducted in the Abel Tasman National Park. However we can organise adventures in other locations if you wish.

S.K.C is not a water taxi business with a sea kayaking arm! Nor a guided walking operation with a sea kayak mix. Nor even an accommodation provider with the ability to facilitate kayaking. But a 100% focused sea kayak operation. We are, with that unique view able to find for you the best kayaking adventure or recommend how you can mix kayaking with walking, lodge stay, sailing or in fact just about any of the activities that the park has to offer.

The Sea Kayak Company has as its water taxi support the largest water taxi company in the national park, Aqua Taxi. This provides our kayak operation with access to a fleet of 13 water taxis.

We are S.K.O.A.NZ registered. (Sea Kayak Operators Association of New Zealand)

The Sea kayak Company is privileged to be Department of Conservation concessionaires. Our concessions are for Marine Mammal watching along the entire Abel Tasman coastline including the seal colony at Tonga Island. We are also concessionaires for guiding walking along the Abel Tasman coastal track and the Queen Charlotte track.

The Sea Kayak Company is endorsed by Qualmark, as an "Endorsed Visitor Activity. Qualmark is New Zealand tourisms official quality licensing system.
