Peter & Maureen Clinton-Baker
Peter and Maureen Clinton-Baker are the New Zealand owners and operators of The Sea Kayak Company.
Maureen is a primary school teacher who was swept off her feet in France by her ski instructor, Peter. They married, and commuted across the world for years following winters. Eventually having two gorgeous kids, Lucy and Kit, deciding then to settle in Nelson.
What to do next!!!!!!!!!!
We had to live and work in a gorgeous place. We had to do something that made people feel alive, dazzled, and also in the end pleased with what they have achieved.
That's how we ended up with The Sea Kayak Company.
The Abel Tasman is a truly special place and sea kayaking is a wonderful and perfect way to see it. It is adventure but of a gentle kind (all thing being equal).
Maureen is the one you encounter in the office or the email (or sometimes now daughter Lucy). We'll try and put together the dream Abel Tasman trip that you have been fantasising about. Maureen is the also the caterer (her other passion) and the provider of the carrot cake that everyone raves about!
Pete is the operations man; he is a perfectionist of the first order. Always ensuring that 'everything' is organised down to the last detail. Checking that all the safety systems, all the guide training, all the kayaking equipment is excellent.
Lucy and Kit, our children, are also part of the operation, helping in the office or as base crew. Monte the Welsh terrier is not much of a help but will definitely give you along with the rest of the S.K.C family, a big KIWI welcome.
