Marahau to Onetahuti
Don’t wish that you had spent another day in the park with us. DO it!!!
You will see more than just golden sand beaches on this trip. Departing from the southern boundary of the national park we island-hop northwards through the Astrolabe Roadstead around the more exposed section of the coast, to a beachfront campsite. Here kayaks are unpacked tents are pitched as the evening reveals the essence of this magical place. Relax as the guide creates your evening feast and dine out under star studded skies. Later as the evening unfolds go searching for glow worm caves. On the following day, explore serene estuaries, Falls River, and the abundant wildlife of the Tonga Island Marine reserve, where birds and New Zealand fur seals abound.
At Onetahuti Beach our kayaks are pulled from the water in preparation for our scenic water taxi ride home.
We often change the direction of this trip and start at Onetahuti and paddle with the sea breeze.
