Where is your base located ?
Oue base is in Motueka. On SH60 coming from Nelson (35 Minutes drive) we are 50 metres past the roundabout upon entrance into Motueka.
What time do I need to check into your base?
Guided & Rental Tours
Check in time for all morning tours is at 7:45am at our base in Motueka or 8:45 if your meeting in Marahau.

Meeting time for this tour is at the Sand Spit in Marahau at 10:45am

What time do we finish?
All guided trips return to Marahau at approximately 4:30pm
All kayak rentals are required to be back in Marahau at 3:30pm
Do we need previous experience?
No previous experience is required for our guided tours.
For kayak rentals, previous experience is highly recommended but not necessary.
You will go through a kayak briefing with a qualified and highly experienced guide who will show you all of the safety equipment and safety on the water.
Can I be picked up from Motueka or Nelson?
Yes! Let us know if you require a bus pick up from your accommodation.
Transport from Motueka is free and the fee for Nelson pick-ups and drop-offs are $20 per person, Return.

Is food included?
Some guided tours are catered and all have catered options that can be added when booking.

Special dietary requirements for overnight guided trips may incur an additional cost.
Please note all kayak rentals are uncatered.
Where can we leave our vehicle or luggage?
You can leave your vehicle at our base (NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING) while you are enjoying a tour or rental with us.
We have plenty of space for safe storage of your belongings.
Will The Sea Kayak Company cancel a tour?
We will only cancel a tour if unsafe weather conditions are visible or forecast. In this situation, we will offer you an alternative tour day or we will refund you if an alternative doesn’t suit.
Bring a rain jacket and warm layers as tours still operate if it is raining.

How do we pay?
A 10% deposit is required upon booking along with credit card details.
Remaining balance is paid on the day of your tour.
Bookings can be made online, over the phone or in person. We accept Visa, MasterCard or cash payments.
